Throughout your playthroughs of
Random events occur once you jump to another system, each time you jump, there's a chance for a battle, meeting the locals of the sector, or for nothing to happen.
Running out of fuel also intiates random events, and sometimes distress signals pop up in systems, which may lead to an ambush, or for a favorable outcome.
Some of these events may put you on a quest, putting a beacon on your map that once reached, give you a favorable reward for your efforts.
Here is a complete of every random event currently in the game.
Upon arriving at a beacon, there may sometimes be an enviromental hazard present. These hazards usually impede your ship in a way, along with enemy ships(unless the hazard is ASBs).
List of Hazards and their effects:
Hazard Name | Effects on Ship |
---|---|
Class-M Red Giant Star | Solar flares periodically light fires on your ship and any enemy ship currently in battle |
Nebula | Nebulas disable your sensors, along with slowing down the Rebellion fleet chasing you. Slugs can still use telepathy to view enemy crew |
Plasma/Ion Storm | Causes your reactor to run at half-effiency, found in Nebulas |
Asteroid Field | Asteroids will periodically pummel your ship and enemy ships, although they can be evaded they will drop shields and deal hull damage |
Pulsar | Will send an ion pulse every 11-18 seconds, ionizing 2 random systems(if shields are up 1 system will always be shields) |
Anti-Ship Battery | ASBs fire a shield-piercing shot at your ship, hitting a random room on your ship and always causing a hull breach, these shots can be evaded |

There are a few different weapon types, along with many different weapons in those categories that you can use to obliterate your enemies and save the Federation.
These weapons are categorized into 7 categories, those being: Lasers, Flak, Missiles, Bombs, Ions, Beams, and Crystals
Along with weapons, you can reinforce your arsenal using drones.
